Hi I can't get the speed sensor out .... so I guess It is time to remove the bracket .
86 944 N/A .
Is it just the 2 screws ... some guys are talking about a "pin" that you have to deal with.
Would like to know before I start.
Thanks

The "pin" is closest to the bracket bolt that is NOT slotted. It is a hollow "pin" and you have to move the bracket towards the firewall to clear it enough  to remove the bracket.  Problem....is you may not be able to move the bracket far enough towards the firewall with the sensors installed.  IIRC I sprayed the sensors with JB Blast for a few days and use a punch to break them loose and got them out.  A real PIA.

i had a new one lined up so i pulled on the wire. not a good idea, i nailed myself in the nose. it seems i hit nose a lot working on this car. i've done it with the speed sensor, steering wheel, exhaust, clutch. i should watch out more for the well being of my nose.

Thanks Mike.
I will keep working on the sensor. I have been spraying it for a few days... it now twists and turns easy ... just doesn't want to lift out... when you used the punch, did you punch it through.. ?
please advise.
Thanks

Don't punch it through it will fall into clutch.  I just did these on my '84.  I used pb blaster for a week  (until parts arrived) and then pulled them out.  What sticks (I believe) is the gasket for sealing as the fit is very tight.  If you remove the bracket then you need to reset the sensors when installing new ones.  If you can get theold ones out you just need to replace with new as the distance from flywheel will not be changed.  Hope this helps some.

FINALLY... speed sensor  came out... Thanks to everybody that has told me to be patient ...Keep spraying (with Blaster).... keep twisting
I used a long vise grip to grab it then put a block of 2X4 on the manifold and used a crow bar on the vise grip.... and it came right out.
Now just waiting for the new 1 ... hoping that was the  (No start ) problem.
Thanks again everybody Smiley

Glad you got them out.  joejoe was right on about punching them thru!!!!
If you did not move/remove the bracket then the adjustment should be ok.
If you need the adjustment spec let us know.
