Has anybody put a 968 engine in a 86 944?  If so, what are your suggestions for getting it done right?  I know the bell housing has to be changed to an S2 and the radiator should be change to a 944 Turbo.  The exhaust has to be changed but I,m not sure what that consist of.  Any other idea's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, did it a while back, we fitted 968 lump in a 88 shell, can't remember having to many problems thought I did have the loom and ecu as well, can remember fitting a s2 fly wheel for ecu pick-up, changed 2-1 section of exhaust for s2, torque tube std, not sure what we did with the bell housing.....gear box easy as well, just change fuel tank and rear support, speedo pick-up could be a problem, I used PI digital dash, so picked up from the wheels
Its when you fit the blower that the fun starts!.....1020kg/360bhp Grin

How much did it cost for you to convert to a 968?  What do you mean by a loom?

We bought a scrap 968 from Japan, stripped out the engine, wiring (loom) and ecu, then sold the rest, to fit it cost around 1000gbp, that included a flywheel/exhaust parts and slight wiring mods, but that was 6 years ago
