944 83 with 968 engine

The 968 water pump also fits: 2,7 and 3,0 S2.

Looks or fit besides, I'd be puttin the correct part #'d pump in my 968, just because looks can be deceaving.

The  internal,  impeller  size  is  the  same , the 2.7 says  2.7 and  the 3.0 reads  3.0 .  but the  internal s are the same , I use  one  on my 2.5 turbo .

I put a new wp on my S2  I had to remove 2 metal guides I guess you would call them. this was so it would go into the block. I was told they are used on the 968

Correct
on  early engine remove the  metal curve , the  3,0 blocks no issue ,
