THE AUTOMATIC FLEX PLATE FOR THE  944  IS EXPENSIVE
NEW TAKE A LOOK

http://www.944online.com/cgi-bin/ASI_Store.cgi?Product+skukey_1001459+9442+clutc...

IF you can';t afford one then you can use something else -

you can use a flywheel off any year  944 na - 82  to 89 -  get a used clutch set up -
flywheel - used rubber hub disc-  pressure plate - take the release bearing out of the pressure plate so it won't rattle - and bolt all of that inplace of the flex plate - you will need new flywheel bolts and new pressure plate bolts and a new pilot bearing-
and its best to use the old style rubber hub disc so that when the automatic shifts gears you will not have a jerking motion  - the rubber hub allows it to flex a little -
over the years I have sold many many of this set up
works great !!

yes
you're welcome

CALL US  -- THIS IS THE KIT WE OFFER !!!

AND HOW TO TAKE YOUR OLD ONE OFF !!

easiest way to do that is like this

take the starter off
look on the hole in the bellhousing
and you will see the bolts that hold the flex disc to the flywheel
there are  9  of them
loosen them in turn - and don't just take them out one after the other -
loosen them all - and then take them out
you will need a big socket on the bolt at the front of the crank so that you can have someone turn the crank by hand to the bolts will appear in the  hole where the starter fit
after you have done that
take off the 4 bolts that hold the bellhousing on
and the COMPLETE assy will come off
THEN you can get to the stupid freaking clip  thats holding at all togerther !!!!!!!

also there is a clip on the inside of the bellhousing -
the clip ONLY comes off AFTER you have the bellhousing off -
so this is how you do that
take the starter off
look in the hole where the starter was , and you will see the bolts that hold the flex plate to the flywheel - there are  9  of them -take them out one at a time -
then take off the bracket that holds on the reference sensors in place -
then take off the  4  bolts that hold the bellhousing to the back of the block -
THEN you can remove the bellhousing AND the flex plate from the flywheel -
THEN you can get to the INSIDE of the bellhousing to get to that little clip !!
see how easy that is if you do it the right way !!

bad flex plate

clip you will need to remove

hole that the starter fits into - take out the starter to get o the flex plate to flywheel bolts
