I hear about this all the time. I have seen a few recent 951 fires on pelican, but I'm a bit of a rookie on this.

Which lines specifically have the highest failure rate. Are we talking about the the supply lines to the regulator and damper? The hard lines coming from the tank?

It doesn't look like Ian sells a "kit" for this, it's all ala carte. Point me in the right direction?

its mainly the rubber supply line in the engine bay leaking onto the headers but i think i have heard of leaky fuel rail/injectors causing issues as well.

All set on the injectors, I found that in the nick of time back in the spring, scary cuz it was right before I was about to leave for a 500 mile trip. Thanks man!

If it's rubber, and it carries fuel, and you don't know the last time it was replaced, replace it.  It's really that simple.  I have seen and heard about a few engine fires caused by the fuel rail cracking at the welds but that's a rarity.

For $200 you can get a Rennline fire extinguisher mount and HALCON fire extinguisher.  I've got one in both Porsches and my BMW.

The late cars are more succeptable to catching fire than the early cars. Replace your freaking fuel lines......

Thanks for the Safety reminder Arron, thats some hard earned wisdom right there! I carry an ABC class 2 1/2 pounder behind the seat, on the floor, but thats a flying debris hazzard in an accident. Any thoughts on a good, out of the way, easy to access, inside the passenger compartment mounting location?

Thanks for taking some time to research those mounts Arron, didn't mean for you to do that. I have the technology to fab the mounts. I was looking for a place in the car where I'll never see the darn thing. Think I've solved that puzzle for now, just so happens the 2 1/2 pounder fits exactly between the rear seatbelt mounts, eather side, and the recessed bottom of the extinguisher locks it onto the seatbelt mounting bolt. It can't move forward from there, and I think a little Velco at the handle end will keep it in place for a Rollover. Rear Seatback down and its fairly well hidden, easy to put into the rear tirewell if  anyone is crazy enough to want to ride back there. Thanks again for the motivation. 8)

With the title, "Flaming 994s," I thought perhaps you found a pink 944 in West Hollywood!   Wink
