Hi all,
I came across 1987 944 LUX automatic Limited Edition. Could someone please tell me anything more about this Limited Edition? I couldn't find absolutely no information on wikipedia etc...
The car is in UK and I'm actually interested in buying it. Please share your knowledge.

That looks like a very nice car - Good Luck with your purchase.

Nothing officially was a "Limited Edition" until the next year.
The model was - 1988 Porsche 944 Celebration Edition.
Very few manufactured in a specific color and unique interior.
It even included a medallion on the glove compartment door.

Search for that to find details.

Looks like a disaster to me... You would spend 2-3X the purchase cost to get it back on the road, based on the continual overheating issues. Also the rust (bubbling) is enough for me to run away. It's, of course, your choice.

I don't think it's a bad starting point as long as you are realistic about what you are getting into. On the low side you would spend $10k in repairs but that can easily climb to $20k in repairs depending on how much you can do yourself. The rust should definitely be a issue because you do not know how much worse it will be in the areas you can't see.

I believe you should ask for a link to the documentation and VIN number. Use of research from your best source ( financier ) would be a beginning.

How anyone without any credentials from the seller or information in definition on the product is second guessing your interest.

Even with complete records, etc., the price is way too high.  It's a shame, this really is a beautiful car...

*edit*  Strange... for some reason it's splitting the link.  You'll have to copy & paste to see it
