Now where did you dig out that!

It's really hard to read, but here's the gist of it:

They compare a group 2 Escort from Zakspeed (known touring car team here), at the high point of its evolution, to a group 4 924 of a "hobbyist" (well, you have to be quite into this hobby...) by doing some rounds on the Nürnburgring short loop (Betonschleife).

The Escort has full racing treatment.

The 924 has the turbo brakes, hotter cams, Solex injection, bigger valves, headers, pistons, summing up to 195hp at 7.1krpm. 0-100kph in 5.6s with two people on board.

They don't mention any areodynamics.

The Escort certainly is quicker (albeit treacherous, wiggling under breaking), full race car. The 924 could benefit from a proper gearbox/shorter ratio (they didn't use the 5th gear at all, "forget it"...), slimming down to the class minimum (still 150kg too much), and certainly: moar powah!

Thanks for the run through big Z... I didn't think I'd ever get to know what it said. Wow 195 hp outta a 2.0 NA is VERY IMPRESSIVE. Did you click on the hyperlink?
