Hello, just wondering, since the ad for the car has been up for a month can I get some input on what would help spur some interest, thanks, Paul

$9,500 seems really high for an 86 NA.  How did you get to that price point?

Thanks for the response, I used the pricing from Edmunds, in the retail pricing they were over 12k for nice and around 6k for rough, I paid 7k for it 5 years ago, thought there was some upward price movement, Paul

Just revisited the pricing from Hagerty, Edmunds, NADA guide and it does seem the pricing is all over the place! The replacement parts as well as maintenance items were performed by a competent Porsche repair shop and now have almost 1000 miles, can't help but drive it, went 100 miles today in 93* heat with ac blowing cold and driving great here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I do need to sell the car soon and have made the price starting point at $8500, please let me know, Paul

How did you get Edmunds pricing for a 1986 vehicle?  Hagerty typically seems high to me but it is good for reviewing trends.  NADA is more reflective of "Retail" pricing and not private party.

I don't want to say what your car is worth.  It is worth whatever people will pay for it. I hope you get your full asking price.  However, the $8.5 k price is still a high end price on the car.

I think a good place to see the values of these cars is on Bring a Trailer.  https://bringatrailer.com/porsche/944-951/ and you can view recent bids as well as links to the cars to get an idea of how your car compares.  If you are trying to move your car, BaT may be a good option.

Good luck with your sale.

Thanks Ky951, my apology about Edmunds, my mistake. I am taking your advise after looking at BaT and will probably list on their service. I have owned Porsches of one sort or another since 1985 and feel this car is as sorted as most any other on the road and is a fine example. Paul

Hello and thanks for the interest in the car, I have adjusted the price to $7900.00, hope this helps to get the car to someone else to enjoy and drive very spirited! Paul

The price looks good for the condition it is in. The problem is that the demand is low for a nice car. Many will compare to the ones in lesser condition, then they will spend countless hours and over $9000 to restore. Everyone still wants a turbo and those tripled in price over the last 5 years. Most of us on this forum already have a 944 so we will look for the smoking hot deal on some special version we don't have. Try posting on some of the classic car sites and take it to car shows.
