1984 944 Overheat - help - which relays are which?

We're chasing down an overheating problem on our new-to-us 1984 944 NA. In position 1 in the relay panel there's a 928.618.102.02, which is a Seat Belt Chime & Relay -- but shouldn't that be a 944.615.113.02? (A/C Relay and Cooling Fan Relay)

WTH?  Is our diagram wrong in the owner's manual? Or did the previous owner get relays mixed up?  Angry

Are 944.615.113.01 & 944.615.113.02 basically identical (so we should have one in position 1 and one in position 2)? The Factory 944 Catalog 82-85 here on 944online lists both on page 247, but the 944.615.113.01 has an "A" in front of it; what's that?

Where is the seat belt relay really supposed to go? I don't see it at all on the diagrams or in the owner's manual. One fleeting flake of information on the internet said it was behind the oil pressure gauge.

Yes, that's in the wrong spot.  Most people put that chime relay in the trash can. Smiley
