I have a 1985 944 the threads on the low side port are to bad to use. Anywhere to find that plate that attaches to the compressor with the low side port.

Post up in the parts wanted section. Someone might have a bad used compressor lying around. If you can find a car in a pull your own parts yard, you could remove it. New compressors aren't too expensive if you look around. An even better option if you can find someone to crimp hoses in your area is to cut your hose and install a new connector or splice with built in service port. It would make it easier to charge and you can switch to R134a quick connect which doesn't have clearance where it is. If you aren't already running R134a, it works very well with these compressors. Mine is ice cold. Just change to PAG oil.
