Hello members
I have a question regarding the tension/ looseness of the balance shaft. After torqueing down bolts 1/17 and 2/18 to 24 lbs. (step 2). should it spin freely like a bicycle wheel are just be able to turn it by hand. When I replaced my engine block (M44.07), I didn’t get the original balance shaft covers with it. I use the ones from my 1987 turbo (M44.51) and installed 87 shells when rebuilt. At 15 lbs. It will spin, but 24 lbs. it wont by hand. Are 1986 balance shaft shells a smaller bearing? Thank you
