FPR question

Hi everyone. I happened to notice that my 87 S has a replacement Bosch 2.5 bar FPR. Don’t know what prompted me to investigate it, but upon looking into it I noticed that the 16V engines are listed as having a 3.8 bar one. As long as I’ve had the car it’s run an little off, choppy at idle (worse when warmed up), minor popping through exhaust upon decel, not terrible but not as smooth as I’ve seen other cars run.
Have repaired vacuum leaks, replaced plugs, wires, cap/rotor, injectors, fuel filter, and timing belts done by a pro last year, about four hundred miles ago. Could a lower pressure than required regulator cause this? Thanks!

Yes.  Put the correct pressure regulator and dampener in.
